Hussain Almosawi is a documentary photographer / videographer based in Bahrain. His personal work is largely focused on documenting the changing urban and architectural landscape of Bahrain and how it reflects the complex interplay of social, political, religious, and economic forces. He is also interested to explore topics that deal with anthropology, culture, identity, and place in relation to contemporary societies.

His practice is based on personal research combined with a collaborative approach, integrating multiple mediums including photography, film, sound, text, and archival material.

Hussain was born in India and later moved to live his early childhood in the United Arab Emirates, before returning back to Bahrain in 2001. He is a contributor to Everyday Middle East, and co-founder of Everyday Bahrain. He produced a number of works for local and regional institutions and media outlets including Storyhunter Studios, Ffotogallery, Civil Architecture, Zayed University, British Council, Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, Gulf Daily News, and Brownbook magazine.
